Stretch your Mind & Body…

It’s the YO BK Difference!

There is truly no other place like the community at YO BK. Whether it is your first class or your 100th or 1,000th class, the teachers are supportive and the students wonderful to practice with. Master classes are offered and fun challenges make it more than just a workout. Speaking of the workout, all the classes challenge your body and work on your mind. I love YO BK!” - Ali

”I've been a member since Kate opened her studio in Williamsburg. All of the teachers are excellent, and everyone is warm and welcoming. Kate and her teachers have created a supportive community and I have made some very good friends over the past several years. I'll be a member for many years to come!” - Britt

“If you’re in NYC, do yourself a favor & check out this awesome studio full of amazing teachers & the most incredible community - not to mention classes that will kick your booty. Love everything about this place!” - Kim

"Doing yoga makes everything in life better by bringing my attention away from my mind into my body. My whole body feels healthier and better after yoga and my mind has been (at least partly) scrubbed of sticky, limiting thoughts." - Jacob

"This practice has taught me what it means to make a healthy commitment to myself and look at yoga as is a lifelong practice. I'm here because I'm committed to feeling my best and I know this class helps me get there. " - Lillith

"Yoga really helps with stress. I become so focused on the postures and not falling over that I have no mental capacity to think about anything else. It becomes meditative. Bikram Yoga provides a great space to literally sweat out all of your stress. You feel so good after." - Kat

"After 11 years of Vinyasa yoga, I decided to try Bikram. Terrified, I bought a Groupon to a studio in the city. Two and a half  years later, I'm astounded by how the yoga has changed my anatomy structurally, myself mentally, and just how I see myself as myself. It's changed my life in more ways than I can divulge. Physically, I'm stronger, mentally I'm more focused, emotionally I can express and release better than before. I can breathe in and out of situations I'd be like a shrinking violet man. I've learned so much from so many teachers I have encountered, met people who are the closest to me. I have so much gratitude." - Erin

"I've been doing hot yoga off an on for about 3 years now and never thought I'd love any studio as much as I loved my home base. I was wrong. I love YO BK and can't wait for my next practice!" - Jazmin

Power Vinyasa Yoga

Power Vinyasa Yoga is an athletic practice linking postures with breath. You will move through sun salutations, warriors, balancing postures, backbends, inversions and relaxing hip openers. All levels are welcome, modifications and props will be offered! Our classes bring ancient wisdom to a modern application.

Come with an open mind and expect to break a sweat. Class is heated to 95F and practiced with music to support your practice.

YO BK offers 200 and 300 hour Teacher Trainings, led and curated by our Director of Education, Sheri Celentano, with over 15 years experience leading Teacher Trainings.

Traditional Hot Yoga

Traditional Hot Yoga is a therapeutic style of Hatha Yoga from northern India consisting of 26 postures or "asanas" and two breathing exercises. It is a beginner's series taught in 60 or 90 minutes. Each pose is a challenge based on one's personal abilities. The postures are done in the safe environment of a heated room in order to relieve one's body resistance without risking injury.

This yoga series is strength-based. What makes this style unique is that rather than flowing through postures (one breath per motion), you spend time in postures for your body to strengthen and remember them. The postures are cardiovascular and will elevate your heart-rate to burn calories.

The beauty of this yoga is that it can be practiced by anyone--it’s safe for beginners and challenging for veterans. In the same class, you will find teenagers, professional athletes and seniors. As you increase strength, flexibility and balance in your body, you will be energized, you will revitalize your mind, and you will progress towards eliminating conditions of daily stress and fatigue.

All teachers are Bikram-certified with 500+ hours of training.

Aerial Yoga

Take flight with aerial yoga! You will perform the same poses you do in a mat class in a silk hammock suspended from the ceiling to support your movement. The hammock helps improve flexibility and strength without putting pressure on your shoulders or spine. The feeling of weightlessness decompresses the joints and relaxes the mind while introducing a child-like sense of play. We can't wait for you to try our newest class!

Aerial yoga is safe and suitable for all levels, though not recommended for practitioners with recent back/shoulder injuries. Wear long, non-baggy clothing and bring a yoga mat. No jewelry, zippers or garments with sharp edges. Prepare for your first class by drinking lots of water and showing up hydrated. Class is not heated.
